String Theory Garage will be closed to the public from Wednesday, 29th July to Thursday, 6th August for our annual shutdown.
If you need to get in touch, please leave us a voicemail or send an email. Our team will happily get back to you when we return on Friday, 7th August.
Shopping online? Don't worry! Our online store will remain active! We hope to ship orders placed for in-stock items as normal during the shutdown. Anything else will be dealt with upon our return.
Thank you for your understanding, String Theory Garage Team
If your M3 or M4 has factory adaptive dampers (EDC), fitting lowering springs on their own will usually throw a suspension fault on the dash and leave the electronic damping control confused about ride height. Pro-Tronic is a small plug-in module that recalibrates the signal so the factory EDC system carries on working properly once the car is lowered — no warning lights, no disabled damper modes.
Technical specification
Function: Recalibrates factory electronic damper control (EDC) after lowering
Fitment: Plug-and-play, no cutting or splicing of factory looms
Pairs with: Eibach Pro-Kit, Sportline and Sportline PLUS springs
BMW M3 Saloon (F80), M3 Competition, M3 CS — 01.2014 to 10.2018
Also covers other F30/F80-platform engines with factory EDC — check your spec before ordering
Do I need this?
Only if your car left the factory with adaptive dampers (EDC). If it's on standard passive dampers, this module isn't relevant to you and you can fit Pro-Kit or Sportline PLUS springs on their own. Not sure which your car has? Send us the registration and we'll check before you order.
We fit this at the same time as your spring or coilover upgrade — it takes minutes and means the car drives properly the moment it leaves our workshop.
