The Nankang AR-1 is the semi-slick tyre of choice for track day drivers who want meaningful lap time gains without the hassle and cost of running a full slick. It offers genuine circuit performance on a road-legal construction — higher grip, better feel and a more progressive limit than conventional road tyres, while still being legal to drive to and from the circuit.
We stock the AR-1 in a wide range of sizes to suit everything from classic motorsport applications to modern hot hatches including the Toyota GR Yaris, and we use them on our own demo cars at events. AR-1s reach optimum operating temperature after 1–2 laps. Cold performance is lower than a road tyre — plan your out-lap accordingly
Not recommended as a sole tyre for daily road use in cold or wet UK conditions
